Shri Eklingji Trust
Introduction
His
late Highness, Maharana Bhupal Singhji of Mewar, created the Shri Eklingji Trust
in April 1955. The upkeep and expenses of religious establishments and the encouragement
of spiritual practice in practical terms are one of the several important charitable
deeds described in the Vedic scriptures.
In accordance with this, the Maharana's charitable trusts include areas that are
devoted specifically towards spiritual and religious purposes. There are provisions
made for scholars and students of religion, for the restoration and conservation
of temples and religious sites and for the preservation and perpetuation of customary
and traditional religious ceremonies.
The Trust functions under the chairmanship of Shriji Arvind Singh Mewar of Udaipur,
the present custodian of the House of Mewar. Besides the Shri Eklingji temple complex
at Kailashpuri, there are several other temples and sub trusts under the custody
of this Trust.
